Bodmin isn't a great town to visit as a tourist. There are some nice campsites in the area, and of course the old gaol which is now a very luxurious hotel, so the town does make a good place to stay putting you in the middle of Cornwall - a good starting point to get pretty much anywhere in the county. There are a few handy takeaway places too if you're passing by and want to grab some food on the go, and also a few supermarkets to choose from, which is handy if your camping or staying nearby.

So, while Bodmin isn't particularly picturesque or interesting to walk around, it is a handy base, or stopping point for supplies.
