England's northernmost town, full of fortified walls, sea views, and borderland history.

“Scenic”

Berwick felt quite different from the other coastal towns we'd visited, less seasidey, more historic and spacious. The town walls were great to walk with the kids, and the views across the river are stunning. The centre has a nice mix of shops and cafés, and we were surprised by how much there was to explore. Definitely worth the overnight stay.

Loved Berwick. It's got an interesting mix of English and Scottish influences, and the coastal walks were great - even on a blustery day. I stayed in a B&B near the centre and felt totally safe walking solo. Would happily come back in warmer weather.
